Default Valeo clutches?

Has anyone heard of this company? I can get a "performance" clutch for around 380 from them through the company i work for. i had never heard of them until a couple weeks ago. i purchased a clutch from them for my 67 chevy truck but that has a 6 banger so thats not really telling my a lot about the quality. thanks in advance!!

A large majority of aftermarket clutches use a pressure plate made by Valeo. The centerforce DF in my truck uses a Valeo PP and if memory serves so does the Spec 3 in my camaro.

they made the "pull" clutch for '93-'97 LT 1's. Most auto store "replacement" clutches for those years are "Valeo" PP and often discs. Typically kits were around $200 for those years, not sure about yours. For stock or bolt on applications they are fine.

Yep. Same PP (different disc) as the 89-96 Vette as far as I know. The parts store clutches are even getting (in many cases) the higher pressure rated "LT4" PP - you can tell by the fingers which one it is.

The stocker in my bro's '94 C1500 5 speed has a Valeo PP and disc. Lasted 250K miles, FWIW. They do alot with the aftermarket, like stated above.

oh okay sweet! i cant decide whether to go the cheaper route and try one of these so called "performance" clutches or just go with the monster stage 3. my car only has 57000 miles on it so there wont be any major engine work any time soon! just all the bolt ons.. any suggestions?

All I know is Valeo is the maker of every pressure plate for the LT1. All the aftermarket and OEM companies use the same pressure plate (on the LT1 that is).

Your vaselating. Sounds like you're worried the valeo won't even be as good as stock. Here's the truth about valeo. (most of the guys have already mentioned it). Valeo is one of the largest manufacturers of clutch components world wide. But not just clutch comp. for factory and aftrmkt applications, also grilles, headlamp assys' underhood plastics etc... These aren't items you buy at autozone, but are items that come from the manufacturers on there cars new, using valeo as there supplier. You can have confidence in the quality, but if you're planning on bigger power and ringing it out once and awhile it likely just won't last as long. I bought a CF DF and installed it. Other than some vibe/chatter it shifts well and holds well. Monster stuff sounds cool. good luck.

That's not the case anymore. My Ram PP didn't say valeo anywhere on it.

...like many "other" brand LT1 pull clutches the PP is a China knock off. Not saying that is necessarly bad. I bought a Autozone "Duralast" brand clutch kit for a '96Z (my application was B-body). It was a Valeo PP & disc. Years later when I returned the clutch for warrenty the "new" replacement was the China clone PP and a disc made by Raybestes with only 4 hub springs vs. 5 on the Valeo (and most other brands).

Some clutch companies use the Valeo PP others the knock off's. Some say they adjust the angle in the "fingers" of the PP for more clamp force, Centerforce puts slider weights between the fingers of the PP.

What the major difference is between all the "brands" is clutch disc material & construction. Many to chose from
