just ordered a new one from gm sdpc performance parts. total is 168 for it to be overnighted. im real scared now to even attempt drill modding this one! so you guys have had good luck using a 7/64 bit? also what type of bit has a good twist strength? i do not want this to happen again nor will i feel good putting it back together un modded! no salvage yards with in a 2 hour drive has any late model f-body's so that means new yorkers are the best drivers i guess. closest dealer that has the part in stock is n PA. about 160 miles away. sorry for rambling im just fustrated. hmm what could i have done with 170.00? a new lid? ftra? it hurts to think about it. i hope i can feel the difference with this mod because it will probally make me feel better then. thanks for all the suggestions and support. ill update you tomorrow on the latest episode of "as the z turns"

I used a 1/8" bit from sears. i cant remember the type but it was gold in color and was in a gold/black pack. it cut the hole perfect w/ no binding at all.
