T56 I was wondering at what HP would u have to start changing internal part in my T56. I was planing to build a 408 with a vortech v1 T trim . will the stock trany hold ? what mods would recommend for me
About 400rwh is avg.alot of factor come into play like slicks launch rpm ect.check with tck perf. Or a shop with verifiable history. A popular upgrade is carbon fbr syncs,steel 3/4 forks & billet stop blocks .depending on your hp & it sounds like you will be making some good pwr with that set up you may want to upgrade you shafts.check with some of the sponsors to get the exact info you need.about 1k & up can be expected for upgrades.i am running the above set up with 460rwh ,lvg the line on lmtr at 6850rpm with about 60 passes on trans with no issues.hope this helps!
The internals are good for well over 700 hp as long as you drive normal and try to keep the car as light as possible . The out put shaft and input shafts are sort of the weak link but even those are good to around 700 hp as well . If making more than that , you might want to consider going with a Viper input shaft modified to fit your application and a Viper output shaft conversion as well .
