80+mph vibration
80+mph vibration Up to 75mph, the car is pretty smooth. Past 80, there's a pretty noticable vibraton when it's in gear. When I put it in neutral, it mostly goes away. What is it? Is it the output shaft or what? What is, is not spinning while it's in gear?? I feel stupid for not knowing, but I'm just not sure!??
more noticable in 5th, not so much in 4th, don't remember about 6th. I know 4th and 5th are not on the same shaft, so I wasn't sure if it was the driveshaft, or just endplay coming out of the tailshaft of the transmission.
Could be your pilot bearing but that would probably just be noticeable at higher RPM's not gear. Idk if it would be in the transmission at a certain gear. How many miles on the vehicle
I had the same problem !!! It was the bearing at the end of the shaft, where the Driveshaft connects to the trans. My mech found the problem and just replace the bearing and never had that problem again (he actually put a bearing, it was missing for some reason) Let me know if you need more info and I'll PM you my cell !!!
