Noise and vibration......TOB?
My car has 115,000 miles on it. Has been cammed since ~75,000 miles. Centeforce clutch since ~95,000. I replaced the slave, TOB, and pilot bearing. Car has not had any vibrations or noise. About 5-6 months ago I started noticing a faint noise when the car sat idling with the clutch pedal out. Once I pushed the clutch in the noise would stop. It was almost a "rubbing" noise.
Then about 4 months ago I started getting a vibration at ~75mph and up. Its only really noticable when i am cruising down the road and accelerating. When I let off the accelerator the vibration is a lot less obvious. If I push the clutch in while going any speed the vibration goes away.
Do yall think these 2 problems could be from the same culprit? I have had people tell me the noise is the TOB.......if thats true could it also be causing the vibration? I am pulling the tranny saturday b/c I want to go to the track for the first time in a long time. But I want to make sure all is ok with my car first.
I already have a new slave and TOB. I would rather not pull the clutch assembly and replace the pilot unless I absolutely have to. Could the vibration be from a bad pilot bearing? Or can a bad TOB also cause vibrations.
also- The car has poly motor and tranny mounts and has had them since ~100,000 miles.
Thanks
Brent
