Default Stupid Piece Of **** Centerforce!! Problems inside..

Well I knew this would happen. I didn't want this damned clutch, but I took it on a trade to go back to M6, wanted the D&D trans and denny's d.s in the deal, figured I'd just hope the clutch would hold up.

Its all brand new, has 200 miles on it when I hit the track Sat.

Basically, from looking at my slips, it has to be slipping BAD in the last half of the track. My MPH in the 1/8th was huge and I only picked up less than half of what I should have in the last half..my E.T was also very off from what it should have been based on the 60 foot and my 1/8th MPH.

Also the car would not accept 4th gear twice and ruined my passes.

Also, after 3 passes the car would not take 3rd or 5th gear with the car running unless it was moving..really weird...drives and shifts normally but if the car is sitting and idling without moving it won't let me put it in 3rd or 5th.

I'm just looking for some ideas about why it could be slipping so bad when its new and was broken in fine.

Only random thought I had is if I somehow put the clutch disk in backwards..but would the clutch even really work at all then??

I dunno..shoot me some ideas..

If you put the disc in backwards it would not go into gear, driving or sitting.

Hmm..well since it goes into gear fine as long as the car is moving(also goes into all other gear but 3 and 5 when sitting while running) I'm going to say the disk is right then..

Could excessive air in the system be doing this?

I will try bleeding it more, but I'm just not sure if air still in it could cause it to slip so much..

I've seen centerforces ripped apart pretty bad even at very modest power levels. they suck IMO...

Ditto.. I have installed close to 10 of these and on 3 or 4 of them, the disk came apart. Stick to Mcleod, Ram, Spec, etc.

Like I said I didn't want this thing, but had no money to do anything else, the brand new D&D trans and updated hydraulics and driveshaft were what I was after, I was just hoping this thing wouldn't be a problem for awhile..

Any thoughts on what I can do short of pulling it all out again to check for problems?

My lid/cut-out Z with moderately easy driving destroyed a DF after ~ 8k. No track time at all... I've heard of people having better luck when running the DF with an adj. master. Good luck

My best advice would be to not race again until you save up and get a new clutch. Don't risk ruining your D&D.
