factory shifter question

Does anyone know where I can buy a shorter stick for my factory shifter for a 2002 camaro. Also does anyone have any pictures of it and how does it compare to the factory shift length.

absolutely can buy one....ebay or vendors. try searching for "lou's short stick" or ws6store.com

stock, a stick i machined, then the lou's short stick

i also installed a hurst shifter from an SS....and i measured the distance the **** travels.

stock shifter in the z28 from 1-2nd gear is about 8"

factory hurst, with a lou's short stick, the same shift was about 3.5" of travel.

Looks ok to me, and I like the shorter throw. I've got an SLP short throw shifter in my SS and still want a shorter throw. What does lou's shifter cost?

OK, Googled the shifter and it looks like 47 bucks plus shipping if you look around a bit. I'm thinking I can get a buddy with a lathe to make one of these for me a lot cheaper. Might take a few trys, but seems worth the effort. I do know I want a shorter throw, the shorter the better!
