GTO MN12 in my F-Body : Problems, Help
Ok, I have a LS2/T56 combo from a 2005 GTO. I'm using the engine for a side project and just installed the MN12 into my 2001 Camaro SS with new hydraulics.
After I get it all bolted up the first time, I fire it up on the stands to make sure it's all working right. Into first gear and slowly release the clutch and nothing happens. I look down and the shifter lever has moved out of first. I take the console back apart and adjust the B&M shifter as far rearward as possible and make sure the shift-stop is backed all the way out. That way the shift lever pulls the cup as far rearward as the B&M will allow.
I fire it up again and slowly release the clutch in first gear - good to go. The wheels move and everything seems hunkey-dorey.
Take it down off the stands and stick it in Reverse to back out, slowly release the clutch and all I get is GRIND and no movement.
Now, I know the cup in the shift housing is positioned differently (it sits further back, I think) in the GTO T56. I hoped moving the shifter would accomodate that.
Is my shifter still not fully engaging reverse and I need to switch cups or is the reverse gear shot?
