Got a 99 ws6 that lost 3rd and 4th gear. I didnt completely lose them, i can get them into the gear, but once i get it in 3rd gear it sometimes, well most the time does not want to come out. I put a centerforce spec 3+ clutch in, but when they put it in they didnt put my new slave cylinder in.. Could this be the issue? It only sticks in 3rd gear, and it just a lil tough going into fourth.. So I have two questions.. Could the stock master cylinder cause the sticking in 3rd gear? And I might as well upgrade the parts of the tranny why im doing it, so any suggestions on what to upgrade?

 

Tough to say but I'd bet the 3rd-4th gear shift keys are damaged and need to be replaced along with a freshen up on it .

 

You beat me to it every time. x2. It's most likely an internal trans issue, not a hydraulic issue because it's only one gear that's giving you an issue.
