Default happy with pro 5.0 shifter length?

i just bought a pro 5.0 and was wondering if the 5.0 owners out there could chime in and let me know if they are happy with the length of the stick? the guy i bought it off already took one inch off the top, but i like a fairly short stick so was wondering if maybe i should buy a shorter stick. also, how short is the pro 5.0 stick, and how short with an umi or lou's short stick? i wanna get a new boot but i wanna make sure i don't get one too long or short

I have the Pro 5.0 with Lou's Short Stick and absolutely love the height and feel of it. I can grab some pics this afternoon if you want to see how it sits.

I currently have the Pro 5.0 stick with 3/4 of the threads cut off and I still think it's long. I'll end up going with the UMI stick and maybe even hack some threads off. I had the WS6 store stick but it didn't work well on the Pro 5.0. It would hit the console when going into reserve.

Its all a matter of personal opinion really.

I cut about an inch off of mine and it was still too long. Also, since Im so tall, I sit far back, which made hitting 3rd kinda hard due to having to reach. So I put the stick in a vice and bent it over and back towards me a good bit. That made reach better, but it still feels long.

I think one of my issues is the shifter ball Im using. Im running a Hurst ball.and it has a jamb nut under it. So instead of threading far down onto the stick, its sitting on top of it.

My plan is to try to remove the jamb nut, and thread the ball down as far as it will go, and use loctite to keep it in place. My other option is to possibly cut a section of the stick out and re-weld it.

All of this because Im cheap and Im trying to avoid buying one of the pre-made short sticks! haha.

Here it is in Neutral. You can see the jamb nut...thats as far down as it could go.

Here it is in second...You can see how far back it comes. Makes for comfy shifting to go with my seating position.

I think 1" shorter than stock would be perfect with the hurst leather handle.

My car came with the short stick on it, and it was too short.

Normal use is the reverse lock out. Flip a switch on my dash and it becomes my momentary line lock button. Set it up to minimize the amount of buttons and what not that I needed...works great.

I bought a 5.0 last summer & I like the offset angle that it has. I do think it could be a lil shorter but it hasnt bothered me enough to cut it down. Before that, I had the WS6 short stick & it seems like its not centered good in the shifter box. I know it has an offset cut in the mounting section. With the WS6 short stick, I would sometimes hit the radio when shifting.

I have a Pro 5.0 with Lou's short stick and the stock SS Hurst leather ****. I haven't had any troubles with it and I love the length of the throws. The 5.0 shifter was a great addition to the car in my opinion.
