Yes, please do. I believe your Level 5 is the highest Level that we will have some test info on(on the board here anyways). We have alot of teh I through IV info, but no V and up, and since I have teh VI, be nice to hear some first hand info on something pretty close to what I have.

trans up- finally doin the tie ups. And a few pictures of the home shop Lul. Dont tell me u cant do a clutch in a 2 car garage =)

Long tube headers make for best headrest-

I shoulda weighed the clutch - but I figured the flywheel at 28 - and the clutch and flex at about the same- I can weight the stuff thats out =/ but I figure monster has the weight specs if you really want them.

Steve , can we get the weights to the different level clutchs? I know the flywheel weights are already listed but

haha who said you cant do a clutch in a TWO car garage??? You are leaps and bounds above my work area And this was alittle more involved than a clutch job. Ide give anything for that smooth floor so atleast my floor jacks work properly. haha.

Im anxious to hear how you like this set up...Im thinkin about giving the monster a try when my LS7 gives up.

A yard I can work in , my space is much smaller -

Stats on car as known

6.0 iron block - l92 / l76 setup. 23x/24x cam .60is lift 11x lsa- 60 lb injector - E85 fueled KN FIPK II or wtf ever Ls1 crap- Victor Jr long tubes - Tick performance master Cylender - Level 5 Monter clutch - UMI short stick - 3.42 gear - 29 inch tire - c6 wheels- Bmr tq arm - BMR lca - AC delete - ABS delete - UMI road race Kmember - umi Upper and lower A-arms- 2 seats a steering wheel and some stereo.

Basicly Im lookin at a car that should make ruffly 500 wheel horsepower ( most likely less )

Clutch fully installed and test driven

1st impression - I am interested in why Monster needs to make a 5.5- riding with a passenger, so Im close to a stock Ls cars weight, and you have to pay attention to find chatter in this clutch. ( And I wouldnt even say that its there ) I have to be very specific in an uphill, 1st gear , 1500-1800 rpm ( which is 4 mph on my car ) A normal car that would be 1mph so I wouldnt think you are gonna have it chatter.

Got the clutch broken it in like 3 seconds - Chatter is gone ( what little there wasnt ) after one heat cycle and a short drive. Drives like a stock clutch as far as I remember it- but doesnt suck- My car has no Idle provisions so I do notice the billet flywheel as a little heavier than stock, but only when I am off the throttle. I also notice that the low end clamping force is huge compared to every other car Ive ever driven and I stalled the car a few times cause I wasnt given the car enough gas. I attest this I assume to the puck style plate- Love it and I forgot that there was something different about the car ( I actually had to go back and edit the post to add this since I forgot it was puck )

Ive had many clutches, driven many other cars with many other clutches - and my first impression says Where the has Monster been - and why couldnt these clutches have been around since day one to save the headaches we have all seen.

Lets not throw a party just yet =) But I really am excited about breaking this clutch.

I am going to take the car to the dyno and get some tuning time in once I am sure I can WOT shift the clutch and its good and worn in. So we can also know where I am at and how this clutch holds up per its rating VS my use.

Glad to hear it is working out so far for ya. yeah, like I said in another thread.....if Monster can continue to keep up what they are doing right now, they WILL be THE clutch company to use.

Here's the breakdown of our clutch weights;

Pressure Plate - 23lbs
Level 5 disc - 3.5lbs
Flywheel - 28lbs

Total - 54.5lbs

Stock Pressure Plate - 21lbs
Stock Disc - 5.5lbs
Stock Flywheel - 24lbs

Total - 50.5lbs

And different friction material. We use a dampned hub because our stuff is designed to be driver friendly, plus, if you use treated components they are strong enough to take the racing abuse. That's one reason we can back ours with a 12 month warranty, no matter how you use it.

Damn glad you're happy with it man! I told you not to fear my pucked clutch, it's all in the materials and components used.

Let us know how it performs after breakin/tune, then take it to the track.

Lul, definitely holding it in my hand- and hard to hold out like that for the picture - That hood is custom man nothin goes on there except water, soap , and cleaner products with proper pads. =)

Weather is all messed up here, so it looks like no track run tonight - I'll hopefully get something up soon =(

Ok Finally another update on my level 5.

Ive got about 500 miles on it now maybe- Havent had an open track day that I could make, but I finally got on a dyno that works

( Broke 1 dyna pac dyno )

Mustang Dyno only made 420 hp @6113 rpm and 388tq. ( the dyno is known for being a little on the low side but whatever)

Fully broken in, on E85 my car shakes on a slip slow street roll start now, not because the clutch is chattering when slipped slow but because the motor doesnt make enough power to not basicly stall. If I just drop the clutch the car rolls out smooth.

The car needs a bigger exhaust to work with this setup as I am chokin the car out- ever other motor car in my club makin 400hp cant keep up once we are rollin simply due to how hard I can pound this clutch and have it not complain at all. The tick master helps as well- Track times soon..

Gonna re-dyno in L.A. And possibly hit the track ( payed for spot ) So updates again on this thing as I get track time on it and another 1000 miles of hard freeway. =)

Why did you guys go with a flywheel heavier than stock?
