Default free beer!

O.k.I completed the drill mod yesterday. Then I bench bled the system, and reinstalled it in the car. I then got under the car and had my wife hold in the clutch while I opened the bleeder. Well we did this about fifteen times and the clutch pedal never got any firmer. My question is do I need to quickly open and close the bleeder, then have someone pump the clutch a few times and then do it again and so on? Because with a ratchet after I opened the bleeder, it takes about 5 to 10 seconds to switch the ratchet and close the bleeder. Is this causing my problem? Is there a better way? Please help me asap!

sorry about the title, but I wasn't getting any responses with "question on clutch bleeding"

When I did mine, I didn't have anyone around to help me so I didn't mess with the bleeder valve. I just bench bled the master and reinstalled it. When everything was put back together, I pumped the clutch about 30 times. It was really sloppy at first, but by 30 it was pretty firm (normal) feeling. Since I didn't use the valve, I might have had a small amount of air in the slave from the quick disconnect, but it must be worked out by now because my clutch has worked flawlessly every since.

However in your situation, since you have already opened the bleeder you might have introduced more air in yours than I did mine, so my method might not work for you. It wouldn't hurt to try though.

So when and where do I pick up my free beer?

Does the peddle come up to the top by itself?Air in the system?
The reason I ask is because I just did a LS6 clutch in a 99 car and its really light peddle pressure.I thought there was air but the clutch works awesome. It was actually too light of a peddle for me.

i just put my center force in mine and i found that pressure bleeding is the best way it took us about 10-15 min and now my clutch pedal is rock solid you have to be carefull not to push to much pressure into cylinder though

I agree with Slowhawk, maybe you don't have any more air in the system. What kind of clutch did you put in?
