Default Rebuilding -- what's necessary?

I'm thinking of having my T-56 rebuilt. It will be mated to a street 427 that will put out around 600HP/550TQ at the crank. The car will be driven on the track several times a year. I will not be power shifting, but I will shift aggressively.

I'd like something that will take the abuse, but I don't want to overbuild. What's the minimum that I need to handle the torque with reliability?

On a related note, I was looking at rebuild packages from two companies:
  1. Tick: http://www.tick-performance.com/tick...ackages/fbody/
  2. RPM: http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/levelivt56.html

What I'm not understanding is why the RPM Level IV is nearly twice as expensive as the Tick Level 2. Is there something really special going on with the RPM setup? To me it would seem like the Tick Level 2 might work for me, but I don't want to underbuild, either.

Thanks,

-ch
