Default clutch problem

i just bought a 2000 formula and i'm having some problems with the clutch.

i read the drill mod sticky and the shim sticky and i think the shim problem might be what i have, but i'd like to get some opinions.

when i release the clutch in 1st gear it takes about a second to full engage. the clutch also engages about 1.5-2'' from the top of the pedal. the clutch will slip if i'm in a higher gear and try to give it gas. its a spec 3 clutch with about 10k on it(according to previous owner)

is my clutch shot? is there a way to adjust where the pedal engages without buying an adjustable master cylinder?

It sounds like your clutch...you would need an adj master to play with the pedal engagement. I had a spec 3 it seem to last me about 15kmi with only 10-15 track passes.
