Default About to do the adj stock master and...

am wondering whether lengthening the rod moves the clutch engagement closer to the floor or shortening the rod moves it closer to the floor. I have the stock clutch, master, and slave on an 02.

The clutch starts to engage the flywheel about 3 inches from the top of the pedal travel and isnt fully released until its all the way up.

Cant stand this fact and am about the cut the rod in half, add a coupler and jam nut to adjust this. Just wondering which way is which. I am used to cable driven clutches on mustangs and to me, that is very easy to adjust.

Looking to be able to have the clutch engage right off the floor, so much easier for me to drive. I have been used to that for about 2 1/2 years now.

thanks in advance.

From my own experience it is able to be ajusted very slightly by either extending the rod or removing the bell housing piece and moving the slave in closer. however the travel of the slave piston is determined by the amount of fluid pushed out by the piston in the master. Ultimately to change the engagement height you should prolly get an adjustable master. I don't think adjusting the slave will work for you.

completely different between LS/LT The slave sits on the outside of the trans on an LT T56 and it sits on the inside of the trans over the input shaft on an LS T56

does anyone know? I may hold off actually. I am actually getting used to the clutch engagement point. Although I did stall in traffic on the highway trying to haul *** and forgot its not still higher in the pedal, lol
