Default Ls1 manual transmission ideas

I have a 98 corvette LS1 that I am putting in my 67 Camaro. I have been looking for a T56 tranny and quickly found out that new and used were really expensive. I was looking for any info on if this is the tranny I should stick to, or if there was any better ideas out there. Any help would be appreciated.

Greetings and welcome,

If you're going with a manual tranny, I would stick with the T56.

Used T56 units run $750-$1500 . Rebuilt units without a core run $1200-2500 depending on whats been done to them .

A good place to start would be the private LS1 parts section on here.

This site has a HUGE market.
