Default Reverse Syncro

Hey everyone, I just bought a 1995 z28 with the lt1 and the t-56 tranny. the reverse gear is pretty much shot, i have to push the shifter and hold it there when in reverse and even then it jumps out. I have been looking around and seen that i might not have to get the tranny taken out since you can gain access to the reverse syncro from the back? Is this true? and would it be better to flip it around or replace the whole syncro and if so what brands of syncro do you suggest with prices. thanks in advance

You will probably need the ring and possibly a set of shift fork pads . It can be done in the car but I would pull it so you can work on it easier .

dont try holding it in gear when it jumps out of gear or you can damage the gear itself. ask me how I know

ok well i am trying to get a parts list and pricing. I don't really want to do this myself unless it is really straight forward. the ammaco by my place is not that bad. have dealt with them before and they did everything right and where knowledgeable.

Reverse uses a brass syncro ring unlike the rest of the unit that uses a steel ring lined with carbon fiber material .

I would order the brass ring , fork pads and have them debur the sleeve and flip it around .
