Aftermarket shifters causing shifting problems, Tranny Damage? Alright I don't want to give to much away. A few ppl know and for now I want it to stay that way so excuse some of the Vague information.
Anyway I have a question concerning aftermarket shifters and I am pretty sure someone here might know about them. Basically I am dealing with an issue where an aftermarket (Assumed Pro 5.0) Shifter on a T56 is starting to have problems.
It was fine for awhile according to the prior owner then it started having problems. Right now it pops out of 3rd sometimes and will not go into fourth. I am looking around on LS1tech but I could really use some advice from others who have run these. A few ideas I have gotten are the screws could be backing out or the plate need adjusting, others have indicated that it could have damaged the transmission.
SO I am going to be taking a look tomorrow hopefully and any advice would be great.
