who here has experience with these transmissions? i am hunting for a core to get rebuilt because i've heard of too many stories of cars being on the stands for too long waiting on a rebuild (cough* SixSpeedsInc) anyway i need a grenade proof unit that can withstand a 600-700 hp sprayed motor. it's gonna see some serious track duty but also be a driver. i've been looking at these trannies and hope i see some nice reviews on their products.

Pretty much any shop that builds T56 is gonna give you the same top-notch build, as most all of the parts are the same. Unless you go to a shop that mfg's their own gears (Rockland) or special racing synchros (Liberty). The issue is looking out for the shops that will dip below that "top-notch" level, and skimp on marginal used parts, or sloppy clearance checks...
As for Tick, I don't know personally, but I've heard good things..
My $0.02..

Unless you can find a core pretty cheap, you might consider just buying a new unit. The T56 Magnums are priced around $2800 and they are basically what you would get in a Viper spec custom T56.
