t-56 issues (noob) I am able to put the car in gear, let off the clutch hold in the brake and the car wont die. When I try to drive it seems like the clutch is 1/2 way engaged. At first I thought it was the hydrolics so I replaced the master and slave. Well after bleeding and bleeding I have a good firm clutch but still the same issue. It all started from when i took my car in to a shop to have a SPEC 2 installed. When replacing the slave i noticed it wasnt shimmed, so i figure that: no shim = clutch eventually failed, and my problem is ?that I need a new clutch?. I will be pulling the tranny again is there a way to check the clutch?
I had a shim but i guess the shop didnt put it on, it wasnt there when i switched the slave. I can get it into all of the gears no problem, but when in gear its like i am holding the clutch pedal half way down.
if your shim isnt there, thats why its happening. your slave is not able to push the TOB far enough to completely disengage the pressure plate. put the shim on, and your slave will be closer to your pressure plate fingers and would be able to complety engage/disengage
