Falls out of gear?

Falls out of gear? My bro just got a 94 and his six speed under throttle just falls out of 3rd gear. I have never had a six speed so whats the deal?

I didn't have the tools, time, or space to drop it, so I had to let a shop I trusted do it. Cost me 600 bucks, including the cost of the parts, but my rear main was leaking all over my clutch so that was fixed as well. The 3rd gear was kind of a "while you're in there" thing.
For just the 3rd gear, I'd say probably 400? Maybe less, maybe more. But make sure you find a shop that knows what their doing.

But I would definately get it out and see what's wrong before throwing good parts away and money too!

Just in case, does he have an aftermarket shifter?
It probably is the shift fork but when I put mine in the top stop slowly worked its way inwards and I couldn't go into 1-3-5.... you never know and that's an easy fix.
