Unhappy Just installed spec III

I just took my car out for its first drive since the new clutch install. Spec Stage III. It chattered pretty bad in the beginning when leaving from rest in first gear. Now the chatter has stopped after 14 miles. Is this a normal thing to experience. Also I was expecting a huge difference from my stock clutch nd honestly I can't tell at all. I haven't driven it hard at all want to break in in correctly but as far as grabbing had I can't tell a difference. Let me know if any of you out there experienced the same thing. I 100% positive I installed it right I installed it over a week time span so I could take my time and check over everything again and again and I also had friends check over everything as I installed it. So, I don't know if there's a problem or I just expected more from this clutch than I should have. Sorry so long thanks in advance for any input.

I am in the market for this clutch. I hope you will notice a difference after break-in and at the track. They say 500 mi. then you can rip it.

Sounds about right.
I didn't notice much change in feel, other than it has never slipped.

I waited for 500 miles and was at the track within a week. . . unfortunately, I have chatter now. The clutch has always managed to hold out of the hole & between shifts though!

Hey Plainwhite,
The car is losing some of its chatter as I put miles on it. I havent gotten on it hard yet waiting to break it in so I guess I really can't compare it to my stock one yet. That was my mistake. I guess I'll find out once I put my slicks on it. But as far as the clutch pedal goes it feels a 100 times better with this clutch and the updated hydraulics then with the stock. Its pretty easy to push and extremely smooth and the clutch engages pretty much where the stock one did. Thanks for all of the replies I'll keep you updated once the slicks go on. Thanks Jessie

The chatter will go away. You also have to "re-learned" how to drive the car as well. You cannot drive those clutch's like you would a z06 or ls1 clutch. It will chatter and be a PITA. You're gonna need to learn how to break your habit of trying to slip the clutch coming from a dead stop, and just let it out. It sometimes appears as though you can't drive, but you'll get used to it and it won't be that noticeable.

mine chattered for a little while, then eventually went away. Was a pain to drive with the 3.42 gears, became much easier to drive when my 4.11's went in.

As for grabbing, I'm in total agreement. Mine holds exceptionally well. I'm running stock 01 hydraulics with no drill mod and my Stage 3 carbon clutch holds 6600rpm clutch dumps on a 175 shot of gas. My ZO6 clutches wouldn't even hold a stock motor clutch dump without smoking it.

chatter is normal with this clutch, you aren't supposed to be slipping it, just dumping it, that's why it's the stage 3 clutch. Keep working it and you will be good. It's a bad *** clutch, we use it on all of our higher powered cars with stage 2 heads and cam and N20 and it has never failed us yet. Been on at least 5 cars and still on those cars right now. You did a good thing putting this clutch on your car. Should have done the drill out mod while you were in there though...

I have a spec stage 3 clutch on mine and I did feel a difference when I went full throttle. The only problem I have so far is that I broke my @#$% 10 bolt twice. If the chattering does not stop. I would recommend resurfacing the flywheel again.

The chatter is pretty much gone with 350 miles on it. Took it out the other night and sprayed on it and it holds pretty damn good can't wait to get it on slicks.

Camarossdn- I put it in with a new billet steel flywheel. As for your rearend problems get a 9inch.
