Default Inexpensive clutch line replacment

Just wanted to post up my experience with a cheap aftermarket clutch line.
I had to cut my clutch line to get my tranny out cause the quick release would not come apart

I bought russells adaptors for the master and slave part number 640281

Then bought a Russell 24" -3 clutch line. Part number 656060

$42 total cost.

This setup fits perfect and works great. I have to unscrew the line from the master to remove the trans now but it reallly isn't a problem.

When it was all put together I didn't even have to bleed the system, just filled the dry master and pumped the system to get the air out. There is no restrictor in the system so the air just travels straight up. YMMV

The clutch works great at my shift points (5500 rpm) even with the small -3 line.

Got them from a local speed shop.
Summit sells the same parts for the same price.

Down side for you would be the trans has to come off to insert the fitting on the slave.
This is the line that McLeod sells with the quick release for $92

well the bright side is i am currently an a4 converting to a t56 so everything is on the floor right now

i pretty much got the master thrown in free with the clutch pedals i bought so if it is bad i guess im only out 40 bucks, but it looks like this line setup might be a bit better anyway? Is the line much smaller then the stock hose? The stock hose has the restriction (drill mod right?) anyway so it shouldnt really matter?

thanks for the help bud!

Yeah the stock line was way more restricted than this one. The air in the line just traveled straight up to the master resivore without me even bleeding the system

These fittings and line are designed to be clutch line parts.

Think the o ring on the russells adapter will work for the stock line going into the master?

So do you need to remove the slave to install this line. Can you get a pic?

I did not remove the slave. The trans on the other hand has to be removed to access the roll pin attaching the line.
