Default Grinding issue from 1st -2nd after pulling the tranny

i recently changed the rear main in my car, when we were pulling the tranny, we had a hard time trying to remove the line going to the slave cylinder. Now that its all back together the trans shifts fine up until about 5500, when i try to grab 1st to 2nd like i did before it grinds very bad. We originally thought possibly the fluid might have played a roll(seemed very thick and was for "mercon and dexron" not dexron 3 specific. So i went back and baught mobile 1 75k + dexron 3(only dexron 3 avail) my question is what could be causing the grinding? possibly that line is messed up? MC not bled enough? Thanks

Probably the clutch is not fully disengaging, try bleeding it some more.
