broken bolt in BAD spot!!!!!!

Ok I bought the car not to long ago it has a 6 speed and i was riding down the road one day and the clutch slipped in 6th. I have babied it around and it has slowley gotten worse. I have pulled the trans out and to my supprise i found the same clutch in it that i am putting back in. Now for the BAD part i pulled the pressuer plate and flywheel off and found only 5 bolts holding the flywheel on and got to looking and the 6th has broken off in the crank. Has anyone else ever had this happen and how did you fix it and/or what can I do.

Drill and it and use an extractor, its not under torque if the bolt head is off.

Had a head bolt snap on me once.

The fastest way is to weld a nut onto the remaining part of teh bolt if possible. I rarely have much luck with extractors but like whytryz28 said it shouldnt be under torque.

try the irvin spiral extractors they work great for me. if that dont work carefully drill the bolt out and retap the hole. be very carefull to drill the holes straight and center.

It shouldn't be too difficult to drill and extract with everything out of the way. Time to buy ARP replacements!

square cut extractors work better for me than spirals.

I got it out. the bolt was a pain in the *** to drill but once i got through it a few taps on the extractor while turning it with a wrench and it slowley worked it's way out.
