Default 750+rwhp Cars

I am building a 408 with an 80mm turbo.
My car is now an automatic but i would like to go a manual because a 4L60e will not hold the power over time from the power i might be making.
I know its much easier to build a T56 to withstand lots of power compared to an A4 esp when an A3 (TH350/400) is out of the question because i want an over drive.

I have heard from many people that having a FI car that has around 750-850rwhp with a manual transmission is a "death wish".
I am wondering of how many guys have 750+rwhp from an FI car (super/turbocharger) and a manual trans?
Whats your experiences with it? The more info on how you felt the better!

Thank You!
-Kenny

its hard to run the same time over and over with a six speed car because of drive error vs. an auto which the computer does it for you. that is what i think the guy means by the statement

Sorry I cant contribute, but have you thought about a 4l80e? Holds a lot more than the 60e and still has an overdrive...

Yes i have.
There would be many upgrades that i would need to do. Everyone says the factory computer can controle it. Well it can, but it's not fast enough to keep up. I have heard that many times.
Also i can not see banging out my trans tunnel. I have also always liked the manuals, more play.

Yeah you do have to bang them out, I got a buddy with one after destroying many 4l60's. 6spds are a blast though

Short of quarter mile track only car, 6spd is the way to go, but it depends what kind of car it is. A well built FI street car will always be civil/normal off boost, and blast with boost.
With that much power you prob wont be powershifting anyway. Just get a well built t56 and you will be okay. there are some guys running stock trannys with that much power, they are careful how the shift but it can be done for a while. the rear would let go before the tranny goes anyway. Plus a with a turbo you should go with a 3.23, 3.18 for the rear, it can help both performance and make them last a lil longer. But im very biased.

You can get a '56 to live on teh street pretty reliably with 750. Track time on sticky tires will put some extra wear and tear on it, but can be made to live. But, on the street...pretty easy, depends onhow much money you want to spend as well. But teh basics:
Billet keys, bronze pads, steel fork, carbon fiber blocking rings and you may want to go "Viperize" at those levels as well and may even look into REM polishing and Cryogenic also.
