Yea, I opened that and it was pretty full. There was this black... rubber... thing in the resevour that jumped out at me when I took off the lid. The fluid in the resevour looked a bit yellowish. Brake fluid DOT4 used here?
Right on about not using the clutch with an empty resevour. Mmm, air...

Truthfully, since you're going to be replacing it at every fuel refill, you'd probably be just as good with dot 3. I may experiment with mine when I run out of dot 4. Just stay away from dot 5 it has silicone in it and it is bad for the seals.

yep, 4 is better than 3 because it holds more heat and takes more abuse.

sit the lid down with the seal inside of the lid
use syringe to pull out old dirty fluid and squirt it into an empty container
get a paper towel or something lint free but absorbant and wipe out the reservoir. You're trying to get all the black stuff out.
Fill with fluid up to the arm that connects the reservoir to the car.
get a towel and wipe off the seal(all parts that touch the fluid
put the seal back in and put the lid on.
Everytime you drive the car hard you might want to check it because thats what'll get it dirty faster than anything.

Here is a link to the T56 service manual.
http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English...-0610-0199.pdf
On page 8 Fig 2-1 you can see the parts and thier respective names.
The stock OEM plastic isolator cup requires the replacement of the
offset lever and rollpin.
The gearbox.org sells a bronze isolator cup bushing instead of plastic.
This will still make the egg beater noise without the deflection from the plastic isolator cup
Sometimes getting out the remainder of the old plastic isolator cup can take a good bit of effort.
Or you can drive out the roll-pin and replace it with a complete new offset lever/plastic isolator cup.
Make sure to place a rag flat in the valley underneath the shiftrod and offset lever/plastic isolator cup.
There are oil holes... You do not want the roll pin to fall down into the tranny.
You will see what I mean. Let us know if you have anymore questions.
