I went with mobil1 syn and the shifting went to crap immediately. Switched to Walmart Supertech Dexron III and it's never missed a beat in over a year.

I use Redline and never had a problem.

Dex/Merc Trans fluid is now the equivalent of Dex III.. Dex VI is probably not a good choice as an alternative..

If the people at your parts store don't know what Dexron III is I would find a new parts store.
