I'm setting up my Stg3 to run through an F-bod t56 then through a C5 diff... I def don't want to break my rear end!!

Not running drag slicks and doing 5k dumps will probably prevent that.

I hear that, sounds like a unique setup your building.

Just went to the track last night with the 9in and it held up. Best 60' was a 1.82. I was still afraid to full launch it so I was doing partial slips from 5000 all the way up to 5800 by the end of the night. I was only on Nittos last night. I'll be going on either ET streets or QTP's next week to see what it can do. Ran a 12.63 in the heat and my PB is a 12.43, so there is more in it.

Yea, i've been in the 1.8's plenty of times on nittos with a few 1.81 60's. I've left at 5500+ on stock clutch and rear without a problem until the monster clutch. Just a little paranoid everytime I go to the line now.

You ppl are freaking me out I have a 9 inch with 4.56 gears and have a true trac, already toasted the 10 bolt for fun, I don't really want to break a $600 true trac. Well still on stock clutch but a monster is in my future no doubt. Bastard monster clutchs being badass and breaking stuff o well

lets put it this way...i was going to go with a truetrac for my posi this time around but i hve been hearing that they dont last long with clutch dumps on slicks so i am rebuilding the eaton that cam i my 12 bolt with heat treated forged spider gears(stock are powder metal), solid clutches, heat treated cross shaft from tom...strongest regular posi you can build

My RAM 6130 VDS clutch held great with a 6000 rpm dump; with a 12 bolt Moser and 4.11s netted a 1.460ft on 16" ET Streets. I am running all stock suspension except tubular LCAs and tubular SFCs. I haven't had any issues at all EXCEPT my original torque arm was destroyed when the two mounting bolts on top backed out. Before my RAM clutch and 12 bolt combo I had a SPEC stage 3 and stock 10 bolt! LoL!!!! I grenaded the 10 bolt with a quick shift to 4th gear on the freeway. Those 10 bolts are garbage and they should have only been put in v6 cars!

for the record , I snapped a axel with the stock ZO6 clutch our cars came with in 2002 with only 650 miles on the car pulling 1.64 60's. I'm sure the clutch is great but just bolting on a set of slicks will break stuff

Well mine did just about the same thing today. Drivers side axle snapped off. I'm not sure if the carrier is ok yet as I haven't pulled it out to get the rest of the axle out but here are the pics:

Man, your car looks freakin good, and I'm sure I've sad that before. But you HAD to have seen that coming though with a 10bolt! I still havent taken mine to the track because of my 10 bolt... and I've got shitty street tires

Thanks! Yeah I saw it coming but definitely not on the first run of the day. I did a burn out and shifted into 2nd gear and she felt good. I figured I'd take it easy on her and only take the RPMs up to 4k and try to get her to slip a little. BTW these MONSTERS don't slip!!!! lol

I believe my old SPEC clutch and lightweight flywheel were my rearend's saving grace. 4 years and a bunch of passes at the track it was her time to go.

maybe things were not set up properly with your 12 bolt, but mine is taking all kinds of constant abuse. i have a moser 12 w/4.10s 33 spline and true trac posi and have cut 1.44 60s with my monster 5. it whines a lot but it holds up i have a bmr extreme tq arm to go with it and it works.

I've beat the **** out of my Moser, probably about 20 passes launching at 6000 spraying out of the hole, mostly 1.5 and 1.6 60's (along with a ton of motor passes), and it still keeps ticking (and whining, alot). 33 spline with the HD Eaton. Think I installed it in winter of '04 or '05.
