Default New clutch

Hey guys I just recently got my clutch rebuilt, and I'm wondering how many miles would you say I should give it before it's okay to give it some abuse at it?

I'm hearing multiple answers, I forgot to ask the shop.

So far I've heard 200 miles, 400 miles, 500 miles and 1,000 miles.

Rebuilt or replaced? If you meant replaced, the norm is 500 miles

Yeah, it's rebuilt. Got a new master and slave cylinder too.

Hmmm, don't hear much of that anymore. That being said, I could only guess what a rebuilt clutch would need for a break in, sorry

So, my GUESS would be 200-250, if that, since it has been through so many heat cycles already. A guess.

My first stick car, and apparently the previous owner beat the **** out of it and my learning must not have helped it in anyways. But it's weird getting used to another clutch, especially one with a good slave line... Goes to the floor like cake.

I guess I'll try googling it or something.

Assuming that your "rebuilt" clutch is using new disc material (essentially a re-lining of the stock disc) and at the very least a resurface flywheel (hopefully it also includes a new plate or at least a plate that has been checked for flatness) it would need the normal break-in that any new unit would. Seating or break-in is the process by which the materials seat and because you have new surfaces you should put 500 miles of city driving on the unit before hounding it to bad. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,
