Help input shaft locked up

Default Help input shaft locked up

Looking at trading some parts for a t56 that the input shaft is locked up on.I know it could be a number of things causing it but wat is most likely causing it?

If it will not turn, chances are its trashed from lack of oil.

Well, as tehsource said, could be lack of oil. Can you tell us HOW/WHEN it happened and what you were doing. You say input is locked up, so I am taking it you removed the tranny. Did you drain teh oil? if so, how was the level?

I dont even have the transmission yet its one im looking at getting.Thats why im tryin to figure out what it is before i decide to get it

Unless its super cheap, I would pass on it. Gears for the T56 can get expensive in a hurry.

That is one I would probaly pass on, as by the time you end up putting parts into it, you could have saved time (and probaly money) picking up another one.

I know it can be tempting because you are probaly saying, well, I only have to come up with a few bucks for this transmission instead of "X" more for a good one. BUT, I would try and keep looking, unless it was very cheap.
