Broken 3-4 Keys

Broken 3-4 Keys

What would cause the little tabs on the 3-4 Keys to break/wear off? I pulled my T56 down and all 3 of them were just pretty much pieces of metal, the little tabs that are on the sides were comepletely gone. I bought the Billet ones to upgrade it, I'm just trying to figure out what breaks them.

Here is a pic for anyone that doesn't know what I'm talking about..

Over shifting it, worn syncros or a damaged fork can all cause this.

Cool, that is what I was figuring to be part of the cause. 4th was pretty much shot when I got it. Thanks for the info.

You should replace them with solid keys!

Its still an auto because I can't afford a new clutch or the pro5.0 for it yet. Either way, I can still drive mine! Oh yeah, next time you talk to my wife tell her I said whats up. I've been to busy at your sisters house to talk to her lately!
