I built my T56..

That's your opinion..I'm not going for times..I'm going for fun.
I had a stalled A4..had 4 4LShittyE's in the car and the Engine thrashed each one of them..this T56 was stock when I got it and held up..for a little bit..lol
I see this one holding up for a while.
That and the T56 is a hell of alot more dependable and durable, and easier maintenance.
I blew 2nd Gear and still had the rest to get home with. The last Auto I killed I lost 3rd & 4th, and had to limp it in Limp Mode to the shop..had about 10sec of drive time..shut it down, restart it and 10 more sec, only 1st and 2nd.

I am ALL FOR those that want to do it themselves, and I would NEVER discourage someone from attempting it (or anything for that matter) but I just want to make sure and point out that unless you have a pretty good understanding of mechanics and a pretty good tool selection, it may not be as "easy" as some say.
In other words, it is NOT for everyone.

I agree
I know what you mean. Someone's perception on "easy" is definitely not the same for everyone. That is why I try to be a "voice of reason". It can be real tempting to say, "yeah, I can do it, because they say it is easy" and then you get it torn apart, and it's Uh-oh
