Quick disconnect? not for me

So what is the trick with this thing?

I tried to push the white collar in with 2 screwdrivers for over an hour yesterday, it wont budge.

Thats where the release tool helps.
It's just a piece of sheet metal that has a slot cut into it.
If you push line into slave a little & then depress sleeve they pop right out.
