Question Power Shifting?

Is it just me or is my gears hard to get in when power shifting especially third gear. Cant remember if it was like that when it had the stock clutch now I have a Centerforce dual friction.I have a 02 Camaro SS. Any suggestions?

Isn't it terrible for your transmission to power shift? I would think the syncros would get worn out if you power shifted a lot, but I could be wrong.

the synchros are still doing what they do wether its powershifted or not, the only difference in youre giving the tranny and clutch a good beating by shifting so hard.

it could be a shift fork problem...i cant remember what the forks are made of but i think the 3/4 can be bent and then you end up with a hard time shifting into 3rd.

someone else thats had one of these apart can chime in.

It will wear out your tranny faster... it throws a beating down on it not to mention the rear can granade... Dont get me wrong i powershift the hell out of my car. Yes the 3/4 fork is not good in stock form.. A good rebuild with a viper steel fork put in place of it will do the trick. OP i used to have that same clutch you have in your car.. it would do the same thing to me.. you might try swapping out your master cylinder out and maybe your slave cylinder.. i did that with the centerforce clutch and it did better..

We handle T56 upgrades, as well as sell teh parts needed to upgrade the tranny.

Stock the 3/4 shift fork is aluminum, you can upgrade to teh steel version.

Also, billet keys

Bronze fork pads

Carbon Fiber Blocking rings are some of teh most popular...

You can check out our site, under
T56 info...
