Default Synchronizer?

I can shift fine in all of the gears however, when i'm at the track or just driving the car fast I have problems with fourth gear. When I put it in it will either:
A. POP out of gear or
B. violently shake and vibrate when it is in gear...
when driving normally there is no problem with it but it gets very touchy under WOT. I'm lost.. Someone help me.

OO! Forgot to mention that I have replaced my shifter with one out of a GTO that is signifigantly shorter however slightly hits the console. My friend suggested that it is just hitting the console and not going in all the way and popping out but.. I dont know

Sounds like he is right...hitting console, and also...does it have stops on it? I BELIEVE teh GTO shifter has shifter stops built into it, so make sure those are adjusted ( I could be wrong on that, as I am not real familiar with teh GTO shifter...)

Oh ok...and the problem came about after the shifter?? If so, put the old shifter back on and see what happens.

Well, it still vibrates a little. No popping out from what I tested but under high strain it seemed to vibrate a little bit more than normal.

Ok, well i've been driving the car for a while and no change from the shorter stick. I guess I need to replace my Synchros? Any suggestions on how to do this? Shop or learn how and do it?
