MGW Shifter for a F-body? I searched for MGW and found their website and they sell shifters for Corvettes and Mustangs. Will the Corvette shifter fit a F-body?
Thank you.
Thank you.

I had a B&M Ripper in my car when I bought it, used a Hurst Billet/Plus with a LSS setup, couldn't shift for **** with it. Tried it with a ws6 store short stick, still couldn't shift like I could with my B&M. Put the B&M back in and sold the hurst. I think it may just be that I got used to the B&M. Tried a Pro 5.0, didn't like the notchy-ness and the 3-4 shift was awkward. Only thing I dislike about the B&M is the height, been thinking about cutting it down but I figure I'm used to it now so there is no point.

I think all the people that voted I cant drive, have never tried anything besides a factory non hurst shifter or Pro 5.0.
I also didnt think the shifts were any shorter than stock. My Speedinc short stick helped but over all Im still very unhappy with it. Now If I could just stop buying other ****, Id replace the damn shifter.

All this time I thought it was me!! I hate the 5.0 in my ls1. It felt better in my LT1. Still I have the B&M but hate it so high. I may take it to a machine shop to have it threaded lower. Yeah that 3&4 shifts suck at high rpms.

I've been rockin a pro 5.0 for about two years. Coming from stock it seems lightyears better. I've also been using a short stick/oem H shift **** off ebay from 2005. I said to hell with the big rig shift stick that came with the 5.0. The oem shifter that screws down over the stick is the perfect height for me, but I've also gotten about 4 years to practice, lol. I'll take some pics of it if yall have no clue what i am talking about.
As far as hand positioning, I now like the "palm out" or upsidedown hand. I saw it done on the tick master cylinder video with the corvette. Seemed pretty radical to me... until i tried it. For whatever reason my 2-3 shifts are freakin GREAT with the palm out method. 3-4 is good too.
In my old LT1 days I had a hurst. I liked it alot, but I can't remember how it felt after driving with the pro 5.0 for years.
With the stock shifters I've crammed it into 1st instead of 3rd a few times... enough to make me really conscious about my shifting. Id rather slow it down than do that crap another time, lol. Maybe I'm the one that needs to learn how to shift

sorry dude, but I voted for #1 lol
My car came with the stock non-Hurst shifter, that sucked.
Drove my friends Z28 with factory Hurst, hated it.
Another friend went from factory Hurst to B&M Ripper, drove it, hated it.
Never tried the MGW Shifter
I have had the Pro5.0 for years and years now, love it. Don't think I would ever drive anything but.

I dunno man. I have read through the posts. It really seems to be personal pref. I have been running the pro 5.0 for years as some and haven't had a single problem hitting a shift although i have never felt the need to power shift. BUT, I'll be honest as I have not had an opportunity to try the others.
