flywheel question
#2
The ring-gear tooth-count is the same...but the OE flywheel design is quite different. The LS2/3/7 assemblies use a recessed flywheel that requires the use of a SAC-type drop-plate. As for the cost I am sure that some of it is relative to the cost of a different design. But it's also likely that the cost is higher because the parts and cars are newer. If you are looking for another option then you ought to consider our clutch and flywheel package that eliminates the both the SAC mechanism and the recessed flywheel. Part numbers SC57A (aluminum flywheel) or SC57S (steel flywheel) and any of the SC66 series clutch kits (not the -2 model that is for use with the OE flywheel). These kits cost less, perform better, and have a higher capacity than the OE units. Let me know if you have any further questions and I will be happy to assist. Thanks,
