Default Shifter relocation on a F-body LS1 trans

OK, I'm building a LS1 T56 trans for someone I know to put in a Nissan 240 SX as a drift car and he is asking me if it's possible to move the trans shifter position forward? If I move the shifter to where the shift guide plate is, where would I reposition that? Any help would be appreciated.

Mike, where are you?

I would think you could move it up there. you might need to swap out a few parts and maybe a new rear housing section. or maybe just move the block off plate and shifter lever socket positions
