The LS7 clutch kit uses a Y-body stepped flywheel, you can not use the clutch kit with any flat style f-body/GTO/Truck flywheel, the whole assembly (flywheel, pressure plate and disc) can be bolted onto any LS sereis engine.

My LS7 clutch has survived DD duty in my TT car with no issues. All stock hydraulics that were replaced when I put the clutch in. And I did the drill mod and bleeder extension at the same time. Almost 3 years & 30k on the clutch (~26k with the turbo's) and it's never complained. Even hotlapping at a carclub track rental. I made 8 passes one day.
But I am on street tires, no sticky tires here. So that may have made some difference.
Just use a LS2/LS7 flywheel with it.
Yes the whole assy will bolt right up with the right flywheel.
Correct. LS6 uses the LS1 flywheel. LS7 uses the LS2 flywheel.
There you go.

I got 45,000 miles on mine with 413whp speed shifting it everyday. Only like 30 track passes and 1.6-1.8 60fts but tons of street passes. This is my 1 and only car. I think im due for a new disk tho. When i get on it really hard it will get hot and pedal will get really soft and if i try again it will slip. Let it cool off and its all good for one run lol. So its almost done. i wonder if i can just throw a new disk it and be done with it.

I wonder if any of these "Newer" LS7 clutches had anything to do with it. My buddy went thru his quick when he got his MS4 h/c tuned, with 315 555's. Did a couple pulls on the HW with it and it just stunk when we stopped.
I wonder.. It's be nice to have a different pedal now.. Come to think of it. My McLeod has been in there since summer of 06.

My ls7 clutch loves the street, and can take the abuse like no other. But at the track on sticky tires, its not too happy. Since I am still on my original 10 bolt and making decent power (damn near 100k miles, 423/382 hp/tq), I slip the clutch from 3500 at the track. Just rev it up, ride the clutch, and am cutting soft 1.8 60's. It didn't like the last outing at all....didn't smell burnt up, but was getting soft and could feel it slipping a lil. Time to upgrade, but other then that, this clutch has held up great since I got it installed maybe 30k miles ago, 15k or so on the H/C set up.
