A long long time ago I had went from stock clutch to a ls6 clutch. I distinctly remember the technician with slave still on trans. I watch him use some picks and got it to pop off the slave. He put spring back on and lined up the tabs on the new one and pressed it on by hand till I heard a click and it was on.. My ls6 cluctch kit came with this to for replacement..

Im confused

Don't be cheap and go ahead and replace the whole slave.
