Hydraulic problem?

Hydraulic problem? Hey guys i have had my car since 2004 and haven't had any clutch problems at all. The car still has the factory clutch in at around 55k miles. Lately the clutch pedal feel has changed and sometimes, for the first 4 inches or so its just no resistance and then towards the bottom, a bit of resistance and thats it. Other times, the resistance goes back to normal. Its a very odd feeling like sometimes the system isn't building enough pressure at times. Does this mean something is going out? The system has never been bled, but should i try the ranger clutch bleed procedure?
