04 GTO T56 shifter question

I removed the shifter from my T56 out of an 04 GTO because it sat too far back for my 67. Will a shifter from an 02 camaro bolt in? It looks like it will but wanted to make sure, thanks in advance.

Any transmission from a 1998-2002 camaro or trans am with the LS1 will bolt right up. The GTO T56 have a longer shifter point as you have found out!

Yes it will bolt up.To complete the shifter swap the shifter and the offset lever ( what the shifter engages)have to be changed.
