Default help bleeding lt1 clutch

i have been having some issues with clutch engaging at the bottom of the pedal, etc, etc, after a through search it appears the fluid boiled and now the system has air in it, i found the instructions for bleeding, it says:

(with the salve off and the master cyl off and the reservoir open) push the slave rod in 20mm, hold, then cap the reservoir and then pump the slave 10mm multiple times.

does this mean,,, release it after the cap is on, then push it in 10mm then back out, or does it mean push it all the way in then go in 10mm movements all the way pushed in and then back out?
