Default T-56 Transmission Break!

Had the car on the dyno today. Felt a good amount of vibration, but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

Once I got it off the dyno, a nice puddle of tranny fluid was on the floor. Got under the car and saw the rear tail housing cracked in half.

I have a 427 motor, made 550 rwhp 511rwtrq. running the stock transmission mount bushing, but have poly motor mounts. T56 is 100% stock.

Besides the extra power, any idea what caused it?

Also, anyone heard of Jason Bailey here in Fort Worth? He was recommended to me to build me a beefed up T56.

Thanks for any info.
Adrian

More than likely your driveshaft yoke splines are twisted. When the pinion pulled up, the driveshaft tried to push into the rear of the trans but couldn't due to the twisted splines. Once that happens, it will bust the tailhousing. I see it often enough to know the cause. Usually it won't happen on cars making less than about 500 at the rear wheels.
