103k miles on the stock clutch!
We had a customer come into the shop today with an '00 Z28 that had just turned 103k miles. He was dropping the car off for various parts to be installed, including a Spec stage 3. I was surprised to find out that he was replacing the orginal clutch that came with the car. When I pulled the tranny out, I was even more surprised to see the clutch still had some miles left in it. What's even more crazy is the guy races the car on the weekends. lol The tranny does need to be rebuilt, so the stock clutch outlasted the T56.
For comparisons sake, my stock clutch lasted 9k miles and I am on clutch #10 with 37k miles on the odometer.

If I had gone through 10 clutches in 37k miles I would be way too embarassed to tell anyone about it (especially any friends) and I would be seriously considering getting an automatic...
My 'Beater' Ride has 223,000 miles on it now, and take a wild guess how many clutches it has seen...
(It is a 4 cyl. and doesn't make any real power - This helps prolong clutch life)

Knowing how Jason drives.... Yeah, I could see 10 clutches. That's about 1 per motor, right?
I got #3 in last night. The Ram grabs good! Little more tweaking and it'll be all set. Time to get the spool installed.
We got 140k out of my wife's OE clutch in her old Mazda. :p Only replaced it because the roller pilot bearing froze up and made an awful squeaking racket.

Also you might want to ponder the power output of his car and the times he runs and you "Might" understand why he goes through clutches. It's a wear and tear item.

I'm hard on parts, so what? Mcleod started sending me clutches just to see how long they would last. Not a bad R&D project. George's only instructions were: "Beat the crap out of it and let me know what changes need to be made".

That car must not be makin power?
Maybe racing to him is dumping it at 1K?
That thing had to be doing something , slipping at 6K sticking down at hi R's something.
Wait is this a 3.8 car?

wrencher, lol, I don't know what he considers racing.
FWIW, the car dynoed 288rwhp/315rwtq bone stock, down to the paper filter with the high mileage.
