I got the steel flywheel, yes it's heavier, makes the car very fun to drive though.

I have the Ram aluminum flywheel and LS7 Clutch/Pressure. Do I have to have em balanced or can I just bolt em up? Don't really see any paint marks on the ram flywheel.... Kinda curious what everyone has done. Thanks!

Lots of places have it, very seamless install though. Got the ARP bolts, Ram Aluminum Flywheel, and LS7 Clutch/Pressure. Also got an OEM Throwout, Tick Master, and remote bleeder. I am so excited to see how this all goes...

the stock LS1/ls6 flywheel will not work with the LS7 clutch. You have to use the LS2/3/7 flywheel or our ram alum one. The one from Ram in the book is only for the LS1 at this time. We are the only place that has the RAM Alum LS2 flywheel at the moment. It will prob be like this for a while. But we still sell the heck out of them.

I hear that more times a day than I care to admit. The people that say that usually have bad experiences with some old 4 spd trans on the back of a small block chevy or some non-LS relating story like that.
The truth is, you can run whatever you want. They do take a slightly different driving habit. If your car has problems surging with a steel flywheel due to a huge cam or anything of the sort, then an Alum flywheel is probably not the best option for you.
A customer here in town installed our Alum flywheel kit on a 99 FRC with a pretty good cam, fast 92/92, and some 5.3 heads and he has no problem daily driving it, even in the snow we get. It did take him about a week to get used to it, but it is no different from driving a modded car after driving a completely stock car.
Do not let the old school guys guide your way too much when it comes to the newer stuff. Some of them still think that Fuel Injection is Voodoo.
