Default Syncros, steel vs carbon fiber ?

Can anyone tell me the main difference in the amount of power and abuse each can take. What's a better bet ?

No such thing as a steel one, AFAIK. D&D only sells one type - the carbon one. The 'old' difference was carbon vs. paper - they don't sell the paper one any more.
