Shifter and bleeder questions Getting a good low milage t56 for the trans am, gonna have 5th and 6th gear again, and was wondering if there is any reason for short throw shifter or if a short stick will do the job until it's time for high horsepower. Plus is there a sponsor on here that sells a good remote bleeder so the process becomes so much easier
I've driven cars with other shifters, but IMO, you can't beat the stock Hurst/UMI short stick combo. If you have that shifter already, just get the short stick and try it out, I think you'll be pleased.
What makes the throw shorter is the length of the stick, cause the shifter rail has to move the same distance to engage/dis-engage no matter what is moving it, it's just the shorter the shifter stick is, the shorter distance your hand has to travel to make the shift.
Another big plus to these "sticks" is they give you a much more solid feel compared to the rubber isolated stock unit.
