Hey guys got several questions on the LT1 T56s. First, is there any way to tell what year the trans is out of (I've heard some years are better than others)? Also what are all the solenoids and sensors on the tranny and which ones have to be hooked up for it to shift/work correctly? I'm putting this in a 2000 lb car with around 300-315 hp mainly street use track very occasionally. Is stock trans, clutch, etc. ok (no internal upgrades)? Thanks

Just stay away from the '93 version, it won't have a CAGS on it.

 

this may be a dumb question but what is CAGS? Oh and that says it decodes tremec trannys and mines a BW though? Still work?

 

CAGS is the skip shift under certain conditions it locks out 2nd and 3rd gear and makes you go from 1st to 4th
